Florida State Flower: Orange Blossom
The orange blossom was designated State Flower by Concurrent Resolution November 15, 1909 Legislature.

Florida State Flag
After Florida seceded from the Union in January 1861, a number of unofficial flags flew over the state. The current design was approved by a popular referendum in 1900. The flag design has been in use since 1985 after the state seal was modified and officially sanctioned for use by state officials.

Florida State Bird: Mockingbird
The mockingbird was adopted as the Florida state bird by Florida Senate on April 23, 1927.

Florida State Seal
In 1985, Secretary of State George Firestone presented the revised Great Seal of the State of Florida to the Governor and the Cabinet. The previous State Seal had several errors which were corrected in the 1985 Seal. This revised Seal has a Seminole Indian woman rather than a Western Plains Indian, the steamboat is more accurate, and the cocoa palm has been changed to a sabal palm as the Legislature prescribed in 1970.

Florida State Quarter
Released March 29, 2004, the Florida quarter incorporates a 16th-century Spanish galleon, a space shuttle and the inscription "Gateway to Discovery." A strip of land with Sabal palm trees is also depicted.
