Maine State Flower: White Pine Cone & Tassel
Maine adopted the White Pine Cone & Tassel as the official state flower on February 1, 1895.

Maine State Bird: Black-capped Chickadee
The Maine state bird was adopted by the Eighty-third Legislature of Maine on April 6, 1927.

Maine State Seal
In June of 1820, the legislature drafted the design of the state seal. Since that time, there have been variations in the details of the seal, but the overall design and images remain true to the spirit of that legislative session. The legislature of 1919 decided that the design of the seal should not vary, and froze the design and it is still used today.

Adopted in 1969, the Landlocked Salmon is the state fish of Maine.
