Pennsylvania State Flag
The Pennsylvania State flag goes all the way back to 1779. However the current flag was standardized by the Pennsylvania General Assembly on June 13, 1907.

Pennsylvania State Bird: Ruffed Grouse
The ruffed grouse was approved as Pennsylvania's official state game bird by an act of the Pennsylvania Legislature on June 22, 1931. Pennsylvania has not adopted an official state bird.

Pennsylvania State Seal
In 1776, Pennsylvania's Constitutional Convention authorized that a state seal should be established. A seal similar to today's Great Seal began to be used, and in 1790 the General Assembly officially recognized a Great Seal.
