Vermont State Seal

Vermont adopted the Great Seal in 1779. It was designed by Ira Allen. The Seal was changed in 1821. However, in 1937, Vermont decided that the original design was more in keeping with the state's image, and the current Seal is a reproduction of Ira Allens's original design.
